About Calamity

Ave "Calamity" Kaye (she/they) is a neurodiverse and queer content creator, game developer, TTRPG performer/writer/producer and all around creative enthusiast with a passion for authentic representation and mental health.

 

Over the past three years, they have been using their past experiences in varied fields to become a creative entrepreneur who values healthy and accessible workflows. They have worked on various freelance writing contracts for video games and TTRPGs, while also creating YouTube and Twitch gaming content. Ave takes pride driving authentic diversity in every space she's involved in, making sure marginalized voices are the ones driving the representation in the stories she's involved in creating.

 

One of their hobbies is organization, so even in their creative pursuits they approach problems from a well-planned structure that favors adjustment for team wellness and anti-crunch workflow. They truly believe in differences being an asset, whether racial, cultural, neurotype, and disability, and seeks to produce environments where all feel safe and empowered.

 

Currently, Calamity is an associate content producer at Firaxis games, working on an unannounced project. She was previously the producer for the cinematic team on Marvel's Midnight Suns DLC. She also performs and produces for various TTRPG live plays, and freelance writes for various tabletop games. When she is not creating content or stories, she can often be found running around in MMORPGs, trying to get her dog to cuddle, or catching up on her huge anime backlog.
